OLS is an employee-owned global content design studio. We exist to bring creative thinking to content execution and have helped over 800 brands create digital creative, social content and bespoke assets which deliver impact across all areas of their media plans. We do our best work as an extension of our clients’ in-house creative teams and pride ourselves on being as agile, responsive and ambitious as they are. Our skills include design, copywriting, 3D, animation, video editing, creator content, motion graphics and AR. 


SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Midweight Designer who will leverage their creative flair and well-honed design skills to produce dynamic and compelling content for our exciting brand clients. They will utilise their solid foundations in typography, composition, messaging hierarchy, and balance to elevate their designs and deliver impactful, high-quality creative solutions. A conceptual eye and strategic creative input will ensure outputs are well designed, considered and perform great.

Spending their time developing strategic skills and operating independently, they can take ownership of projects, driving them forward with intent, minimising unnecessary errors, and requiring minimal support. Their fresh, well-executed work consistently reflects a solid understanding of creative standards and industry expectations.  

They are highly receptive to feedback, continually honing their creative, technical, and critiquing skills. They are entrusted with more high-profile projects due to their independence, attention to detail, and innovative design solutions. 

They will maintain excellent time management, communication, and collaboration skills, consistently meeting deadlines while fostering strong relationships with the studio team.  

With a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, a Midweight Designer continues to take the initiative in learning about new design trends, client needs, and industry innovations, always striving to enhance their strategic insight and creative capabilities.


RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Independently create engaging and strategically aligned creative work based on provided briefs and concepts, adhering to best practices. 
  • Manage projects from concept to completion with minimal guidance from the senior studio team, showcasing accuracy, consistency, and meticulous attention to detail. 
  • Ensure adherence to the company’s best practices regarding workflow, processes, and creative standards.
  • Apply critical thinking to continuously develop and enhance creative work. Embrace constructive feedback, implementing it effectively to ensure that the final deliverables align with the client’s strategy and objectives, and meet expectations.
  • Collaborate effectively with Creative Leads, the Creative Director, and colleagues at all levels across all studio functions to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to project delivery.
  • Manage projects flexibly across various brands and clients, consistently delivering high-quality creative work on larger or more complex projects. 
  • Encourage clear and proactive communication throughout the entire studio team. Collaborate effectively to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned and that project goals are achieved efficiently.
  • Consistently exhibit a passionate, positive, and proactive attitude, serving as a model for the broader team and fostering a supportive and inspiring work environment.
  • Assume responsibility for your professional growth by actively pursuing learning opportunities and advancing your skills. Submit any requests for training or development resources required to refine your craft.  
  • Champion the company’s principles and values in all aspects of work, ensuring they are reflected in both individual and collaborative efforts.


KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years industry experience working on the agency side, or in-house for a highly commercial brand.
  • Adept working across digital platforms, social media experience is key
  • Conceptually and visually minded with lots of exciting ideas that you can deliver on
  • Experienced in motion design for big brand advertising (digital / social)
  • Exceptional knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and proficiency across the entire Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Outstanding ability to source and use appealing stock images for different brands and styles.
  • Refined in retouching to create a composite artwork
  • Experienced in navigating working files and re-editing/reformatting videos 
  • Proficient at working swiftly and effectively in a dynamic studio setting. Skilled at rapidly understanding briefs, enthusiastic about collaborating with others, and also able to generate ideas independently. 
  • A contemporary understanding and appreciation of the creative industry alongside technological innovations
  • A strong work ethic combined with a high level of attention to detail, focus, and consistency. 
  • Organised, collaborative, and confident with excellent communication skills.
